Would a professor want to be alerted to students obtaining old exams?

I’d rather be a judger than a cheater.

I've read the original post, and there isn't much to indicate to me that this is an academic integrity violation at most universities. If I compile exam questions I encountered in 2018 and shared them with the 2019 class, this isn't cheating by definition of our university code of conduct.

If the student accessed the old exams in some illegal way then this would be different. This is no different than passing on knowledge from one undergraduate year to another, which of course happens at every university.

If, on the other hand, the students obtained past exams and past solutions and copied those solutions in the event the same questions came up, then this would be cheating.
