I look around, the unconscious bodies of my teammates lay around me, a few feet away from me stands a Monster that has plagued this planet for a long time. We came so close to beating it, I thought it was over. But this thing plans on taking the entire planet along with it.
It was never supposed to end this way. I prepared for this. I spent my entire life readying myself for this very moment, and I failed. There's only one thing I can do to stop this monster from destroying everyone I care about. My only regret is i'll never get to take my beautiful girl down the aisle. I just hope she knows I love her, I hope she knows I had to do this.
God, if you're out there listening to my thoughts right now. I just want you to somehow let her know this is the only thing I could do. Let her know I love her and I swear that I'll never forget her. I wish she knew I planned on asking her to marry me tonight. I was finally going to retire from the Team after this last battle. Don't get me wrong, these guy's are the best friends I've ever had. But I was ready to start a family.
She'd kill me if I told her what i'm about to do, don't even get me started on my Mom. I hope you're proud of me Mom. I'm sorry you have to bury your son. I know no Mom should ever have to do that, but this is the World we're talking about. I'm happy to sacrifice my life so that you all may live in peace. I love you.
I've got enough energy to teleport this Monster and I deep into space. I won't be able to teleport back in time before it explodes. Oh well, so be it.

I walk up to the beast, it's going to blow any second now. I take one last look at my friends and smile. Then I touch the Monster and teleport into space. I don't know if they'll even know what happened when they awake. But I know for the first time in a long time, everyone will be safe.
