[WP] A group of superheroes meet as a support group for the physical, mental, and emotional hardships of their jobs

Every week it's the same, they all meet up and just talk about their problems. Just like any other support group except all the group members are superheroes. When at the group, everyone dresses like normal people and go by their regular names. Clark doesn't go by Superman or wear a cape, Bruce doesn't wear all black and lurk in the shadows, Remy puts his cards away for the hour, and Peter takes a break from hanging out on top of buildings.

And then there's me, the only non superhero in the room. I'm just your regular court appointed group therapist. Ever since the Superhero Surveillance Act was passed last year by the president all superheroes are required to attend weekly counseling, among other things. But it turns out that this part of the SSA has actually been beneficial to the superheroes who have attended and attendance has been slowly increasing.

The format of the meeting always starts with introductions. So I start the meeting by asking everyone to go around the room and introduce themselves.

On my right, Clark stands up and begins. Hi, my name is Clark Kent, I go by Superman.

Next person. Hi, my name is Peter Parker and I go by Spiderman Next. Hi, my name is Scott Summers and I go by Cyclops. Hi, my name is Barry Allen and everyone calls me The Flash.

And so on and so forth.

And every week we start with volunteers for who would like to open the session and share what has happened to them this past week. And like every week Bruce raises his hand.

I see Diana elbow Kara and hear her whisper "I bet my invisible jet that he cries about his parents again this week. I then hear Kara whisper back "Yeah well if Clark laments over Lois one more time I may just swallow some kryptonite and do myself in."

Luckily neither Clark nor Bruce hear the exchange. Good thing too, because it turns out that being a superhero really does a number on your psyche. But that's what these meetings are for, according to the president. She says that if we must have superheroes out in the public then they need to be controlled and they need to be mentally stable. She has a point but when was the last time she attended one of these meetings? When was the last time she saw the Dark Knight blubber about his dead parents or listen to the Man of Steel come to the realization that there were people in that building that he accidentally collapsed last week when he was fighting off a nemesis?

I'm just doing my job here but it's all super depressing to watch these superheroes talk about all their feelings every week and then see them saving cities during the rest of the week smiling and faking it for the general public.

It goes to show that even though not all of them are from our planet or are technically human they all have humanity and that's what makes them super.
