[WP] The leader of a cult experiences emotional turmoil after finally meeting the demon that they have been worshiping.

After getting back home around 10:00pm, I walked into my husband crawled up into a ball on the couch. I asked him what's up, and he hesitantly said that he watched Marley and Me and got emotional. That cleared things up for me - that movie killed me too.

We spent the rest of the night watching movies on Netflix. He felt distant the whole time, not really speaking. After the first movie, I told him, "Hey, I'm sorry for missing the meeting today. I just had a ton of work to do, and they wouldn't let me off."

"Oh, it's fine," he dull-fully replied. "You really didn't miss much."

He started to flip through the movie sections. After absentmindedly flipping through all the sections, looking at all the movies we've seen together, he let out a long sigh. "God, I've had a long day."

Confused, I asked him, "You don't work on Saturdays, right? Did they call you in?"

"No, the meeting was just..." He paused. "It was just kind of long."

"What happened?"

"Nothing, really. We just had a new member come in today."

"Wait, that was today? I thought it was Wednesday! Dammit, I love coming to the initiations. Who was it?"

"I.. uh, it was.. his name is Johnathan, I thought you met him. And we had to move it from Wednesday because we had a schedule mix-up, it's not a big deal."

"Well, shoot. I always like those. Oh well."

Silence. Looking at my husband, I asked him what else had happened.

No answer. I asked him again, but it brought no answers. He was staring at the screen, absentmindedly. I tried to get his attention but he wouldn't respond. Finally, I yelled at him. "James, what the hell happened at that meeting?"

He instantly broke down. I didn't want to hurt him, but I needed to know the truth. So I pestered him again, "James, I need to know what happened at that meeting!" It only made him cry harder.

After him crying for what seemed like forever, he finally looked back up at me. In front of me were two pitch black eyes, looking directly at me. I gasped and started stepping back, but he pulled me back in, leaned to my ear, and whispered,

"I saw him."
