Xur Megathread 2/6/15 - 2/8/15

What bugs me is the lack of heavy synth. Not for myself as much as for raid groups. Its already almost a given you'll get one person in your raid who is out of synths. Now there will be more. Artificially increasing HM difficulty and frustration.

As for Xur not selling anything good, at this point, I've collected everything good save a couple exotic weapons. I can't expect much. So maybe Xur is flawed if he can no longer help end game players? And as more content comes out, there will be less and less chances he can help end game players. More content means lower odds of selling that one item you need. At some point, people stop caring about him and what was once a cool event becomes meh.

How to fix him Have him just sell exotic engrams for coins every week. Imagine him having just the engram's for head, chest, gloves, and boots along with each weapon engram. Same prices as pieces he sells now. 23 coins for primary engram. 13 for helmet engram. Add in heavy synth every week. No one would be hoarding too many coins. No one would be guaranteed any specific weapon. He would help new and seasoned players. Getting your weekly coins would be important and exciting. It would also fit Bungie's RNG model. I think this is what he should have been from the beginning. At this point, people have saved up a ton of coins. Some guy said he had 300+. That's a lot of rolls, but still no guarantee he gets what he wants. And at 13-23 coins a pop that will go fast. You would actually have to choose how to spend your coins for the week like how we did in the beginning. Majority of people would have 27-35 coins to spend per week. That's a couple pieces of armor or a weapon and armor or maybe two weapons. No different than People would get a lot duplicates sure but that would be less vault swapping. Exotic shards would be common, but who cares. I doubt they really hold anyone back. People would have more weapons to level which would mean more bounties would be done. Would be a great time to add new bounties. Fairly easy to implement from a code standpoint. Obviously more tweaking and thought would need to be done, but it feels like a potentially better idea than this current form. I suppose eventually the pool will get too big and this could be equally
