A) Who cares? It's not that much money and most people can comfortably afford it. If you can't afford it, you should probably be more focused on other things in life than video games anyways.

B) Paying for these services ensures they're the highest quality possible. If they were free, Microsoft and Sony would have absolutely zero incentive to make these services have any actual quality. If you want proof, just look at how fucking garbage online multiplayer was on the PS3, when online was free.

C) This would never happen anyways because these services are how Sony and Microsoft make their profit on their consoles. They almost never make a profit on the sale of the consoles themselves, it all comes from these services.
