First time Reddit post so let me say I'm grateful to be here and have been given much from readings Phinney, Volek, Attia, d'agostino, westman, and all the posts on here. I bough the Abbott blood glucose and ketone meter. Have been only taking blood glucose levels until my ridiculousoh expensive ketone strips arrive from Canada. I realize that testing my blood glucose isn't all that helpful if I'm healthy, and not insulin resistant. I'm very healthy, 10% body fat, and have been eating Lchf for two weeks, but have fallen off the wagon 2x. My question about blood glucose specifically is how or why my levels would be 90-100 upon waking but post meal/before bed its around 78? Shouldn't my glucose fall over night? I know your answers are all going to be more questions, as it always depends on what fuel source I'm using, what I ate, etc. but try to answer that in a vacuum or speak from your own experience. I'm not diabetic, and over the blast two weeks my glucose levels have been between 70-120, usually between 75-90. If I'm using ketones, which I'm not sure I am yet, how does that effect blood sugar (I think it doesn't directly)? But again, main question, how can I have a higher blood sugar after 10 hours of fasting than than I do Bree going to bed? Is it simply because my blood sugar falls as insulin is released post food and then it creeps back up to a normal state during sleep without having any stimulus to release extra insulin? I think this post, and answers to it, may help not jay me but others who are checking glucose levels as the undergo lchf eating. Thanks much, Bowie Ps, I tried to open my own thread (not to hijack) and it never let me post from my iPhone. "Post" never caused any action. So sorry about this
