Where have you read that the US court system is held up as a good example? Have you read that praise from any foreign source talking about the US court system?

I get this feeling that America as a whole is kind of doesn't hear anything about the rest of the world and thus don't get a clear picture to compare and contrast political, social, health issues etc.. with the rest of the world. What with the statistic that (in 2017) about 42% of Amerians owned a valid passport (which is up from only 30% in 2011) [1] and I'm quite sure (but I'd need better Google skills to find the article again) 50% of Americans have never travelled outside the US though I bet that's gone down a bit due to the increase in valid passports over the years. Still, the majority of Americans have not experienced foreign countries and how they operate, and never read about them unless some major event occurs there.

Therefore I think Americans are quite susceptible to just assuming that while maybe their system has flaws, it's gotta be one the best in the world right? Everyone's gotta look up to it, it's America! But when you look at the cold hard stats, America trails in many respects. Income equality [2], Life expectancy at 31st [3], not too bad in corruption but certainly not 1st [4], Happiness index (yes a shaky statistic but I don't think insigificant) [5]
