Abandoned/Interesting places to visit in NH?

There's only one issue I was angry about, and it's all rooted in conservation.

It's not going to hurt if he/she wants to go bushwhack a little.

Except that's where you are absolutely wrong. Bushwhacking is fine in a real wilderness where it is unlikely that anyone will ever tread the same path as you. On Monadnock it's a completely different story, because as you said:

There are trails and tourists literally all over the mountain.

It's the most hiked mountain in North America. With such a high concentration of people on what is, in reality, a very small mountain, you run into serious erosion issues. There is a task force of volunteers who put in hundreds of hours a year just to "brush in" the main trails. This involves dragging dead branches/limbs from deep in the woods and placing them on the sides of the trail to "corral" people so they stay on trail.

It is not at all an exaggeration to say that if they did not do this, the main trails like White Dot, White Cross and White Arrow would be 40-50 yards the whole length of the trail because shit heads like yourself don't want to step in a little bit of mud, water, ice, or heaven forbid you have to step on a rocky surface, which for some reason many hikers seem to detest.

You apply that same level of concentration to the mystery of the Megalilith and you end up with a dozen footpaths in an alpine region that simply do not belong there.

It's people like you who ruin peoples day and just trying to do the same you are.. enjoy nature...

Yeah, I'm a huge asshole for wanting to conserve one of our natural resources. Fuck the future generations, why would they ever want to enjoy nature like you did? The fact of the matter is you're an entitled piece of shit.
