Active Shooting At Planned Parenthood In Colorado Spring, Multiple Victims

This I believe coerces me into asking the following question: If he were to have verbally threatened to do something like this, what would it be called?

Terroristic Threats.

All mass shootings are acts of terrorism. Sometimes we might not understand or be able to discern a motive, sometimes the motive is wholly delusional. But the motive, the point the individual is attempting to make, or the message the individual is attempting to give amplified voice to, is always present across all situations.

No one just up and decides to kill a bunch of people for no reason at all. There's reason. There's cause, even if it's a based on a nightmarish fairy-tale.

To suggest that this man is not a terrorist is to redefine the terminology. A tactic being employed by particular sects of the right wing. To include in the definition a qualifier: 'must be Muslim.'

If this is a Christian with a theological motivation, this is a Christian terrorist. Whether or not he is sane does not change this fact, as terrorism is defined. If this be the case, then I find no grounds for which a Christian in the United States to ever again claim that only Muslims are terrorists. This isn't the first time an abortion clinic has been attacked in such a fashion. There was a doctor who was assassinated in fucking church!!! But these events are long since past. New generations have grown up, seeing those events as before their time. Events that don't occur in the modern day.

No more will a Christian be able to claim with any honesty, integrity or merit that there are no Christian terrorists.

I am a citizen, not a court of law. Until it can be shown otherwise, I genuinely believe that this is ideologically motivated. The right, and the christian right in particular, have given us reason to fear them with their increasingly hostile, totalitarian, and hate encouraging rhetoric. It is fucking ridiculous the number of people that will attempt to shame you for calling yourself liberal, or have a progressive agenda (of some magnitude, great or small). I didn't choose to *be liberal. I am liberal by way of the beliefs that I have developed. My collection of beliefs happen to often align with the values of an American liberal agenda. There are limits to how in line those values and beliefs are, but that doesn't matter to someone that calls Barack Obama a socialist.
