Advice on whether to look for another position

If they are prioritizing a newer hire’s training, in my experience that could be because you’re perceived as not meeting expectations (whether that’s actually true or not). Have you asked why your training was postponed? Could be something out of your control. Or could be an opportunity to get helpful feedback.

Not necessarily trying to criticize; I know in a lab I worked in, there were very high expectations for folks regarding speed and efficiency and not meeting them didn’t mean you were a bad tech, but maybe a bad fit for that lab. Sounds like you’re gut is telling you what’s up, if there’s a good opportunity to move to a better situation, I’d take it.
