Affordable turbo-props or jets?

So, not to discourage you away from jets, but there are quite a few things you should know about flying them.

To fly a jet, you need to get a couple things. You're gonna need a type rating (each jet falls into its own category, so they need additional training to be flown by any pilot). You're going to need a multi Engine certificate (which usually goes with a Commercial Pilots License) and you're going to need a high altitude rating. everything every other user has said here is valid, but you should know that this is some serious time to put into flight training, not to mention expenses. Just the training listed above is a bare minimum of 100 hours of flying, plus at least another 100 of studying, if not more so. you can find all the laws about jets on this page

The other important problem I see with your vision is that you're planning on buying a super powerful, super advanced aircraft as your first airplane. Legally, you can get your PPL in pretty much anything you want, but flying is not terribly easy to start. You have to constantly be ahead of the airplane, or else it will get ahead of you. One big joke pilots have in general is about cirrus sr22's. These are new, fast machines that have all the latest and highest technology onboard. The problem is that, just like the v tailed beechcraft before it, this type of aircraft gets a bad rap from pilots who buy it before realizing just how much airplane it really is. Then the airplane and the pilots who fly it become the butt of the joke for the aviation community.

So, here's what I recomend you do. Find a local airport with a flight school and take a one hour intro flight. They'll take you up and let you fly the airplane. That way you can get a taste for it yourself before you know for certain that you want to go this route.

BUT, there are still some cool options in the smaller, lighter aircraft category. take for example /r/flying 's collective wet dream aircraft the Lancair Evolution. A beautiful machine that speeds through the sky at 350MPH or more! Or my personal "realistic" dream plane, the mooney m10. A two seater diesel speed demon that goes almost 200MPH while not costing too much to operate (relatively speaking for airplanes). Or the Cirrus Vision a one engine jet aircraft that looks awesome.
