AITA - For walking out the surprise birthday party my family threw for me?

Put yourself in Mom's shoes. She sees that her newlywed daughter went from having the promise of a fairy tale life to one where she will perpetually be the caretaker to her husband. It is only natural for a parent to not want to see their child suffer...even if it means eschewing the binding contract of marriage. After all, in today's world, people divorce for Wayyyy wayyy wayyy less egregious things than a wheelchair bound spouse. I was watching the criminal psychology channel on youtube recently...I forget the name of it, but it's a youtube channel that blew up during COVID. One video was about an MMA fighter who beat up his porn star girlfriend. The pornstar's mother testified in the courtroom, and the narrator said there was a study by some big psychology source that there is no stronger familial bond than that of mother and daughter. Kinda pissed me off because as a dad that means mom loves our daughter more, and I didn't think that was possible...but I guess it is. Evidently by OP's post, from mom's POV, she just wants her daughter to live a "normal" life, as promised by Lifetime Movies she no doubt takes notes from.
