Unfortunately the girl is only 16 and she’s been shot straight in the heart with sadness and grief over losing her mother in a tragic accident. And she was in the car with her mother and out of the three women - her injuries were semi-minor which means she could have been the most alert.

OOP was also there but stayed that her arm was crushed so she could have been in a lot of shock and probably didn’t intake as much as her sixteen year old sister did due to the severity of her injury.

And since Sofia went through such a trauma, she’s not going to be aware of anyone or anything around her for awhile. She may not even be aware that her nephew is even experiencing problems because right now? She legit cant, not yet anyway. And cause she’s a teenager she’s not able to cope, especially with something like this where most people wouldn’t even know how to cope. The OOP isn’t wrong for not prioritizing her.

But the OOP is wrong for pushing her son onto the sidelines, and she’s wrong for not getting all of them help sooner - including her son. None of these people are coping and they don’t realize that they’ll never be able to cope unless they get that professional help.
