AITA for canceling the shared debit card my wife was using when she took a trip to cheat on me?

You’re massively overthinking this. It’s going to be a footnote in any court battle, if it even shows up at all.

He didn’t misappropriate funds, remove her name from the account, close the account, or otherwise do anything that the court would genuinely care about. He canceled a joint card when faced with a suspicious charge — notably, that’s an action that cancels both of their debit cards and they both have to wait for the bank to send a replacement.

These days, the bank will often immediately and automatically provide the replacement card and card number for use from the banking application before the physical replacement card has even been shipped.

Nothing is going to happen to him here over this. He just needs to speak to a divorce lawyer to discuss how to handle things going forward.
