AITA for enforcing that my son uses his college fund to pay back his child support?

NTA.

My dad abandoned me. I got to spend the 26 years I inhabited the same earth as him wondering where he was, what happened, why wasn’t he around, etc. I vividly remember being in kindergarten and just thinking it was normal for not everyone to have a dad. He died last May, heroin overdose. Took months for me to find out, and I found out via a letter from a random Ohio county telling me a child support case in my name had closed. Even to as recently as last night, it absolutely haunts me that I both never met him and never received any sort of support from him, having grown up in relative poverty.

/Every part/ now wishes after reading your post that my dad had someone like Josh has in you to hold him accountable and make him do the right thing. I simply can not fathom your wife trying to excuse your son going out of his way to abandon a child.

Josh absolutely can not be allowed to get away with something so utterly heinous. He has knowingly done everything in his power to effectively rob a child of 1/2 of the support structure every child deserves.

Make him pay that robbery back.
