It sounds like Amy might have endometriosis, as it's a common cause of serious period pain. As someone with this condition I can say firsthand that there's typically not much that can be done. I've had multiple surgeries and still experience debilitating pain that can get so intense I'll faint. Obviously I can't exactly function when I'm in that kind of pain so I have to plan things accordingly.

I really do sympathize with Amy here and I'm disappointed to see so many in this thread assuming the worst of her when it likely is a legitimate medical issue. That being said it's obviously not OP's responsibility to help Amy, especially at their own cost.
