AITA for telling my teenage daughter I don’t feel the need to tell her I love her?

YTA - Some of us have parents that tell us they don't love us. Growing up I wanted affection from my mother more than anything in the world, I never got it. Even just a simple "I love you" from her would be the best thing that has ever happened to me.

You actually love your daughter. You need to show her that. She wants to be shown how much you love her. It's not that hard to show some affection. That feeling of jealousy towards friends feels absolutely awful. You long to be loved like them if you feel like your parents aren't giving you that love. It's such a desperate feeling. Please go and tell your daughter you love her, give her hugs, tell her how proud you are, a high-five even.
