To all people who are planning to go but maybe are a little adamant because of the news of violence in Chicago, I wanna give you some info:
The show is in Hoffman estates, which is around 40 minutes from Chicago. If you are looking to book a hotel, Hoffman Estates, Arlington heights, Schaumburg, South Barrington, Elgin and west Dundee are your best bets if you want something close to the arena. Elk Grove, O’Hare and Rosemond are better if you are planning to stay close to the city (taking as reference the amount of hotels in those cities).
the O’Hare airport is 25-30 minutes from the Sears centre (depending traffic). Arlington heights and Schaumburg are right in the middle.
There are plenty of bars/clubs in the suburbs. H.O.M.E. In Arlington Heights usually has live music with well known rock/alternative bands. Schaumburg, Rosemond, Arlington heights and mount prospect are well known for the nightlife options.
plan ahead if you want to visit Chicago. As any other metropolitan area, traffic is hell, and finding a parking spot is almost impossible during the weekend (unless you are willing to pay ridiculous amounts of money for them).
Prowrestling tees store is located in the corner of N Damen and W Fullerton in Chicago.
Hoffman Estates PD is well known for setting up speed traps everywhere during the weekends. Be cautious when are you coming and/or leaving the arena.
Illinois is enforcing their “zero tolerance “ when it comes to drugs, so if you want to party hard, be careful.
if you are coming with your kids, There is a LEGOland Store in Schaumburg. Its actually pretty cool.
Pretty sure AAW, SHIMMER and Dreamwave will try to cash in on the show as well. So be on the lookout for those shows as well.
And like in every other city, be safe and trust you gut.
