Fallout 4 still catches me by surprise with its visuals at times.

I loved building settlements. Shit man, I designed a trading network based around caravans, trying to make the optimum settlements for a sort of Commonwealth Silk Road. Depending on its potential accommodations, location, etc. a settlement was or was not a stop for likely caravans. Caravan stops were, by nature, more populous and had greater amenities. little settlements depended on these hubs, so were always connected to one, either directly or through another settlement. Using only trade routes, a man could walk the Wealth from end to end.

This infrastructure also meant the militia could better defend settlements. Trade hubs became important military outposts, and places like Bunker Hill, Starlight, and Hangman's Alley all had Minutemen offices.

With this military network established, (and some mods installed) new settlements could spring forth, never too far from the hubs. Bit by bit, the Wealth was reforged from Post-Apocalyptia.
