It is -your- nature to put your self first. I have personally always sought to defend others who could not or would not defend them selves. I am a confident person and always, we must work on our selves before working on others but, it is better for you to help others beyond your want.
I already have a theft record from years ago. I never stole from people, I stole from millionaire companies (books, food, clothes, items) and I gained such a record because I stole in front of a handful of police and let them ticket me. Life is only interesting anyway. and among other things, I do run red lights when it is safe to run them. If there is no one to my right and no one to my left and no one before me but there are 30 vehicles behind me, I will run a red light. and yes, I would easily walk out and not pay for a meal but personally, I have the reason to teach people, not to be belligerent. More to say about all of that but it is to teach everyone, not just you. and, it is to teach those who want to know, not those who want to nit pick around a common misconception.
Whoever you claim to be your government/leader is your leader, just because you portray that. The example is the example. but I lead my self and am willing to guide others who want the guidance, for no exchange, just as if I heard my neighbor screaming for help, I would run to them before I called any government.
You call "dumb question" and "fucking unattached". Clearly I am unattached. I am not obsessed with the things you are obsessed with, that most people are obsessed with. I am not ridiculous as you are trying to be. I know what I know and trying to convince someone is like trying to convince your self.

I am not sure who you are or how old you are or what your life is like but at some point, I am betting that you would wish life were more simple than a job and bills and traffic and partying and so much more that never ends.
politics will not ever end because people love it. They bathe in it and swim in it and love how endless it is.
