Absolutely not. It’s more to do with your feelings.

Really....in my experience, I’m pretty sure I’ve had bad breakups I did/didnt want and amicable breakups I did and didn’t want. IMHO how it ends had very little to do with hurting. My ex-wife and I had a very amicable breakup after 9 yrs that I didn’t want and no contact was not viable. I was completely over any broken heart in a few months, we were friends within a year and 7 years later we’ll occasionally go to each other’s family get togethers(sometimes with significant others).... my last breakup was horrific after 2yrs also I didn’t want but it resulted in severe and extended broken heart. Kinda depressing to say that the breakups I did want, I never looked back and rarely think about.
