Oh man. I was involved in an incident with a group of people in a car who were belligerent and aggressive, hanging out of their windows and flipping me off, screaming at me etc all because I was behind them in the right lane and went to change lanes/pass them in the left lane due to them going under the speed limit. About the time I switched lanes a car pulled out in front of me and cut me off, so I ended up having to lag behind a bit. People in the car I tried to pass seemed to a) find it hilarious I hadn’t been able to pass them?? and b) take extreme offense over me trying to. I have no idea why.

Anyways, they chased me for miles, ocassionally weaving in and out of turn lanes and speeding to try to get in front of me to cut me off. Ended up with them aggressively tailgating me and rearending me.

I pull over to call 911. It’s 4 AM, there’s four of them in their car - two men, two women, aggressively screaming at me and threatening me. In my car there’s just me - a small woman - and my dog. The operator specifically asks me what race the people in the other car are so I inform her they’re all white. And then, because I just assume she’s going to ask me the same, I tell her I’m half-black.

They heard me and had a field day with it. Started laughing and sneering about how I was trying to use the race card to pretend to be scared, to get sympathy, how they should throw me over the overpass we were on, how I was lucky they had kids waiting at home, etc etc. Called me all sorts of racist slurs, said I was race-baiting???, so on and so forth.

All because the operator asked me and they heard me say I was half-black while informing her they were white.
