Another proof of how random credit scores are

I worked for a credit reference agency (TransUnion) for a few years.

The consumer facing credit score is somewhat meaningless score compared to the actual factors that a lender takes into consideration when making a lending decision.

A credit score is generic calculation based. on things that the credit reference agency believes are an indicator of credit worthiness without the specific acceptance criteria that goes with a lending product.

This is why your credit score can very depending on which credit reference agency is calculating it as there is not an industry standard.

It’s also why the reference agencies will state somewhere on their website that your credit score will not guarantee you will be successful in applying for credit.
