Antidepressant prescription by psychiatrist

The fact that you’re not on a mood stabilizer is a bit concerning to me and everything I know about bipolar disorder. I’d be asking why you’re not. I completely understand being prescribed the two… but to not already be on a mood stabilizer is what is strange. I’ve been on Wellbutrin and lexapro at the most recent additional med. Whenever there is additional stuff going on (just anything really) a new antidepressant will get added into mine. So for example my base meds are seroquel xr, Wellbutrin, topamax (migraines but helps with bipolar too), and Xanax (only at night). So we’ll mess with just the seroquel and Wellbutrin at first. But I had a very bad series of episodes that started in 2019 that have lasted to basically now… and we had to add in lexapro. Not much. Just 10mg. But then that felt like too much once I evened out. That was hellish getting off of due to not titrating correctly on my part (didn’t hear psychiatrist correctly on directions). It’s a journey. So basically, I need the others as my regular cocktail and no other antidepressant gets added unless it’s a real shit show. So… get that mood stabilizer in your body and mind!
