Has anybody got any tips for preparing to quit?

I wish I could help you but I myself am currently struggling with substance abuse. My only insight for your situation is to be very careful using other substances as a crutch to aid in quitting. I was a daily smoker from 14-21 and a heavy smoker on the back end of that. When it came time to quit I didn’t believe I had the will power and decided to remove any option of relapsing all together by drinking alcohol heavily for 4-5 days straight. It worked, immediately after I was repulsed by the thought of an alcoholic beverage because I basically just poisoned myself for a couple days. I went completely sober for about two years before I picked up my current drinking problem. Don’t recommend.
