Has anyone donated eggs before? What was it like?

I participated in 1 round of egg donation a few months ago. The entire process start to finish took many months. I originally submitted an online application in April and was then passed to the next, more in depth online application in May. In June I was contacted to come in to a local office for bloodwork and a 300 question multiple choice personality test, which took about 1.5 hours. I was able to go in at 7am and was only a few minutes late to work. In July I went in to the main office an hour away for more thorough exams: physical, more blood work (drugs, nicotine, stds), and a nurse gave my vagina a once over to make sure nothing was going on down there. I talked to a psychologist for an hour and then the doctor about the actual procedure. I watched some videos about the whole process and left with a bunch of info and some medication to start when the time came. This took about 5 hours in total (drive there and back included) and I had to take a day off work.

Due to some miscommunication, I thought the office would call me to tell me when I should start the process, but turns out I was supposed to call them when I got my next period. In October, they asked if I was still interested. Whoops. In November, at my next period, I went into the local office at 7am and they checked me out (vaginal ultrasound, bloodwork, urine). The office called me later in the afternoon and told me what amount of medicine to inject for the next few days and sent more by courier. I went into the local office almost every day at 7am for 10 days. (the actual egg donation part from first day to last day is about 10-14 days, depending on how your body reacts to the medication). I did not miss any time for work. I was even able to drop my son off at school every morning. The morning visits were very quick, like 15-30 minutes at the most. When the time came, I went into the local office one final time, they explained everything I had to do once again, and I gave myself a final injection that night.

The next morning I had to go to the main office for the retrieval and I needed to take the day off from work. They are open 24/7, but you cannot schedule a time since everything is related to your hormone levels and egg size. It was a Friday, thankfully so I only needed 1 day off. I left my house at 8am and got home at 2:30pm. You cannot drive yourself as you are put under during the retrieval.

For the 10 days and the retrieval, I felt nothing different. Literally the only thing was one of the drugs when injected stung and was itchy for about 15 minutes. Easiest money I ever made. I am probably going back for another round.
