Why are clinic receptionists always so rude?

Do people who speak to you in a decent manner deserve respect?

- Yes, by respect I am referring to how that response should be formulated or reciprocated. If I were to say good morning and you said some slur that would be considered 'rude' by most.

I used generational trauma as an example because I thought it fit well with the case of receptionists getting abuse therefore they develop a thick skin scenario.

Of course not every conversation is going to go smoothly but I wanted to start a conversation about how this has always seemed to be the case with my experience of clinic receptionists. I don't give a flying f*ck if someone gives me a slightly negative comment to something I said on a one off or few times but this is all the time it seems.
