Are the previous seasons worth watching? (Tv series)

In my opinion? YES. One hundred percent YES.

Season 1 was, is, and will always be one of the best seasons the show has offered. There's only 6 episodes, but you want to know something? Each episode serves its' purpose in that season, no.time wasted with any obvious "filler", I believe. The pacing was just right, and everything moved along with appropiate urgency. It's pretty much a solid season from start to finish - it feels different compared to now because everything was a lot more grounded and "normal-ish", but it is a great season, with amazing talent, movie like camera work, intense action, and some emotional moments (provided you care).

Season 2 is a lot.slower than Season 1. But to me, it still felt.trie to itself. This is the time where everyone settles down and you start getting to know these people, who they are, what they think about everything, and how they try to adapt to the world. It also focused on Rick and Shane, and how things start getting a bit tense between them for reasons. The season stands out because of that one big reason. The second half was definitely alot more engaging, where things pick up. This season gets some flak, but still - watch the hell out of it! I.reccommend it (it really isn't bad as people make it out to be).

Then Season 3. A bit weaker than the first two seasons, but still enjoyable enough. There isn't.a lot of character development to go around in this one, except for a few instances, but there is action - and its entertaining action. The acting was incredible to me on all fronts, especially Andrew Lincoln (of course), and it has its shocking moments that could leave you floored. Beware of Andrea though - I heard she was a pretty hateable character in that season because of some things she did or said. There's also a new villain to keep an eye out for - the Governor. That's all I'll say.

Season 4 is so fucking good in my eyes. This was around the time when the show felt like it was truly growing some new wings. It's got a heavier focus on character development. Every character in the main cast - even the support characters who seemed like redshirts in the past - get agency in the plot, and have long been elevated to being fan favorites. It is a lot darker, and really goes there in the last few episodes, especially the finale. It feels like the show gained a direction with this season. The writing was really well done, and its rife with symbolism and metaphors. Considering.that this was when Scott Gimple came into.the picture, I'm not surprised at how well this season turned out. Plus, the villains are very engaging in my.opinion...It just felt different.
