When I lived in Phoenix a few years ago I met someone who was trying to get the law regarding metabolites changed. I know he was getting somewhere and the high court had ruled that medical marijuana cardholders couldn't be charged based on metabolites alone. I moved to another state and lost touch so I'm not sure what, if anything has happened since then.

I know this isn't entirely helpful since I don't have a whole lot of information and I'm not an attorney, but I wanted to offer you some hope because a lot of people out there are going to tell you that you're totally fucked, but that's not necessarily true. You're likely going to have to fight this and will need an attorney to do that for you, but do not go down without a fight. Again, lots of people are going to say you're totally fucked, but you can't listen to them. Hire an attorney and listen to him/her instead.
