Unfortunately it has gone downhill in recent years, they got rid of chalets in favour of a big hotel and more cottages. They also got rid of the half board option, so now it’s only bed and breakfast - evening meals aren’t included in your overall pay.

Because of the cost of building the hotel and knocking down chalets to make cottages, the price shot up massively.

It’s a shame as it was one of few places that had that sort of 50s vibe of family holidays by the beach, I can go anywhere andstay in a hotel but so few places have chalets now. Cottages are okay, but like camping I hate going on holiday to do all the cooking and cleaning - you holiday to get away from that

Croyde is a beautiful place though, small village in Devon but well worth a visit
