It wasn't just a "their hands touched" it was more of "we're together against you and holding hands" while saying something far too cheesy(in a bad way) for me to repeat in the middle of a fight(potentially to the death) against Blake's abusive/stalker/murderer ex-boyfriend(we think, there's a whole 4 relationship among the side characters that are actually defined so the audience doesn't have to make assumptions and that's it for the whole show)... basically the subtext is that they're either together or together together, and most of the fanbase is loosing their shit one way or the other because they left us on a cliffhanger before we got any more information about whether this was an actual relationship reveal(aka ship confirmed) or just some shounen style friendship speech that just so happened to be between one of the biggest ships in the show... it came super far out of left field either way though which is why i'm not happy with it
