Australian parliament refuses to label China’s Xinjiang actions genocide

What OP is trying to say is that if there was a genocide going on, the entire 10 million Uyghur population would be fleeing into neighboring countries, causing a refugee crisis of unimaginable proportions. The effects of even one million people being displaced from their homes has caused a major crisis in neighboring countries. Yet we don't see any of that happening in the countries that border China.

Perhaps the Canadian parliament has good intentions, but the process by which people use to come up with these numbers are questionable. The methodology used to calculate the number of people in camps basically boils down to asking people for their opinions, which is hard to find convincing. Casting even more doubt on these allegations is that research has been spearheaded by Adrian Zenz, a member of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation that's also a far right Christian fundamentalist who believes that he was "led by God" to research China.

Also, it should be noted that some of the witnesses are completely unreliable. Here's Sayragul Sauytbay talking about the violence she witnessed inside of a camp, and her original testimony, where she said she didn't experience any violence. Tursunay Ziyawudun claims that she was forcefully sterilized, yet claimed seven months earlier that she wasn't beaten or abused.

Is there a genocide going on? Possibly. But until harder evidence comes out -- more than the writings of Zenz and a few unreliable witnesses -- there will be people that question the veracity of the claims being made, since they're so reminscent of the Nayirah Testimony or Saddam's wood chipper.
