they do this to us too at my store except we’re pro desk. my co-workers and i get pulled ALLLL the time to go cover for different departments. we’re constantly cashiering, covering in lumber as a spotter, downstocking departments, or even covering service desk often. it’s annoying. we’re some of the lowest paid people in the store and yet we know more about almost everything. it’s frustrating too because when our desk is short-staffed, there’s no one to pull to come help us lmfao. because no one else even knows how to do our job and they don’t care to make them learn. it’s not in my job description to work pro desk but also every other fucking department. super annoying if you ask me
