I have this argument with my senile in laws. They believe climate change is a hoax. That the world always warms and cools on it's own. So I tell them ok lets say you're right. But we know that if it warms to much it can destroy us so shouldn't we try to cool the world back down?

They just look at you with the "No Compute expression"

Anyway...

The reality is you're seeing some of the fallout from climate change now in it's earliest stages. It is consider one of the biggest National Security Issues America and the Western World faces, not because the changing weather won't effect us but because we unlike other countries have the resources to deal with it to some extent which it turn will attract Climate Refugees.

It will eventually set in motion the largest migration the world has ever seen. Everything from Humans to animals will seek escape. People think the Trump Wall is something that will allow the US to control refugees from SA. It's a joke. A few years back 300 Sri Lankan refugees showed up off the coast of British Columbia and Canada took them in. It caused quite a stir through out Canada because of the way it all went down.

Now consider having 2-3 billion people on the move. You don't have 300 people showing up in a boat off the coast of California. You have 10k-20k a day showing up on every inch of coast line you have. Even the military can't stop it. Look at what is happening in Europe with the refugees from Africa, it is a precursor to what will occur on North American shores eventually.

I won't be around to deal with it more than likely but it is going to suck for the folks that will have to deal with it.
