Black dermatologist in Ottawa?

Here's the thing, you don't need a black doctor or a doctor that is familiar with treating BIPOC skin disorders. You just need a doctor that is familiar with treating a doctor that is familiar with treating BIPOC skin disorders and that's what you should be asking for.

There's no guarantee that a black doctor will be any better, especially in a city where they will almost exclusively treating people who do not have the same skin tone as you and have different predispositions for diseases. I get that it's frustrating that you have been misdiagnosed and that it's frustrating that you feel like you might not be getting the same quality of care as someone who has lighter skin but asking for someone based on race is not the solution and it's not helping the wide variety of race issues we experience in the world.

And I respond this way to everyone, I'm a very strong believer in human rights. It's not OK in todays world, we know that these things do not actually impact quality of service. At the same time you deserve adequate treatment and care but I really don't agree that you should be asking for someone based on race. I'd implore you to read the article I linked which explains why it's a serious issue.
