It really isn't a level playing field and I truly feel like everything is subject to the randomness that is life even without the major advantages some people are born with such as attractiveness, position, wealth, etc... just to name a few.

However, at the same time I think there are merits for people reaching a destination they've put their minds into figurative or literal. People should feel fortunate that things turned out in their favor though. Because not everyone finishes the races regardless of how advantageous or not their lot in life has been. It's not necessarily the strongest or fastest that finishes first. Time and chance happens to us all.
