Books with a solely psychological approach to the occult

Nah, dude. You won't find what you're looking for outside of Jung, and that's often onerously technical. I love it to death, but I would never suggest you start with one of his occult works. Start with Man and His Symbols or The Undiscovered Self.

But really, deep Jung study is rarely one's cup of tea. You just need to practice suspension of disbelief in the interest of scientific experimentation. This is why you keep a journal. Make sigils. Don't question why it works too much; you know it's psychological and all the woo-woo the book is telling you is just that. You don't have to buy in. You can just use it. It's okay that the cover looks all crazy and that there are these funky illustrations and they want you to chant demon names or whatever; if it isn't real, why be worried about experimenting with it? It's your own psychology you have to battle with here, and no book (to my knowledge) exists to equip you with that understanding, at least not in regards to occult practice.

A final note, beware of being overly skeptical. Just because chakras are mixed with a buncha woo-woo doesn't mean they aren't actually energy hot-spots in the body. As far as my limited research has shown, there is a very real (and physical) basis to them via nerve endings and endocrine glands. Additionally, the idea that your "mind" is all generated in your head is an illusion. The whole body is in on the game. So here's a good start to your psychological analysis: how can I adapt my perspective of the charkras (through empirical scientific knowledge) to be useful to me?
