California breaks the electoral scale: It still has more votes to count than were cast in 34 states

You forget two issues.

One is that the house votes are made by people in those rural communities. If all the house were elected by the whole country like the president it'd be different. But they're being voted in to represent nowhereville midwest.

My post is saying there are more liberals than conservatives in the country - but most of them are concentrated by the millions in cities. Due to the way our system works, that actually gives them much less of a say in how our government works.

If we instead counted popular vote - Liberals would always win. But the thing is - we don't. We count districts/counties and states - landmasses, essentially. That means if there's a district with only one person in it, he affects the vote as much as a district with 10 million people in it. That's why a person living in the middle of nowhere has vastly more power in the voting system.

Second - Liberals need to fucking vote. Most Conservatives already are, and we still beat them in popular vote even with our pathetic turnout. If both sides had 100% turnout, liberals would destroy the conservatives.

But yeah, people in the house are elected by districts most of which no cities (like, actual sizeable cities) even exist in. The house was elected by a bunch of hicks, more or less.
