I feel like his shtick is more targeted at practicing Catholics to reassure them that anyone who is critical of the church is in fact a selfish hypocrite and to not listen to them at all. He makes a distinction between reborn-with-new-zeal cradle catholics and then literally everybody else and then proceeds to dunk on everybody else. Most practicing cradle catholics will just think of themselves as one-of-the-good-ones and not take offense though.

Honestly online interactions with adult converts to Catholicism are one the main reasons I haven't gone back. No matter how bad things get, the church will never run out of aspiring grifters looking for a career defending the indefensible.
