Can someone invoke a theological conception of morality in defence meat-eating?

I might be misunderstanding your comment, but I'm not sure if you're addressing my question, because I am not interested in a religious defence of animal rights. I just want to if someone can claim since the word of God represents objective morality, then if the scripture, or whatever other religious doctrine they're using, doesn't consider meat-eating, or factor farming as unethical, then it is not. And as far as the following statement is concerned

it would seem like that's an issue for the religious position rather than our evaluation of factory farming

It can apply to other ethical questions as well, some of which secular ethicists' views deviate from that of the religious.
