Can someone give me some idea on Australia's political parties?

So Liberal or LNP (Liberal National Party) a coalition of the Liberal and National party are our conservative party or centre-right.

Labor which started as a trade union movement are our centre-left.

I say centre because they're both relatively bipartisan in keeping the country going, Labor more experimental, Liberal.. well more conservative. Both have "factions" in their own party, Liberal have the Nationals, Labor have all the donating Unions + progressives.

On the whole, Australia is much more "left-wing" than the US with welfare, public infrastructure, authoritarian policies at times etc.

The US's "Republican" party would probably be our One Nation party, they're policies are almost exactly the same, with the LNP being your Democrats.

The divides are the same, like you can see it on this thread. For example, One Nation would be "right-wing" but far from far-right if they're relatively the same as Republicans but to the far-left they would seem it. Same as the Greens, they are bonified far-left employing self-admitted anarco-communists but to someone indoctrinated in that school of thought, they wouldn't seem so bad, just "left-wing".
