Capitalism sucks sometimes but it’s kind of the best option.

And again, why do you keep mentioning my motives here? I'm influenced by talking points and jealousy, but you're only influenced by logic and honest searching for truth? Come on, man. We're all humans subject to psychology and we're all genuinely looking for the truth. That goes for me and you.

Sorry, I think this point is coming from the way I'm phrasing it - as though it is attacking you directly. But my point was still true though. The reason you brought up the Laffer curve (which is undeniably real) is because it was a major political issue during the Reagan campaign. The fact that you're taking it personally doesn't mean that I'm wrong.

The best you can do is look at historical societies and compare that to the theoretical models we have

You need to look into the field of behavioral economics. That field studies what you're saying isn't studied. This is still consistent with my comparison to climate science. "We've never done an experiment where we had two Earths, one was under controlled conditions and one was the experimental group."

I'm sorry if this comes-off like a personal attack. I don't mean it as such. But I do mean my comparison of attacks on modern economics to be akin to attacks on climate science. And your comment fell right along those lines.
