The civil was was about much more then just slavery

People like to say what you just said, and while technically they're correct they also tend to almost be apologizing for the confederacy. Like "Oh well they weren't that racist, only a little racist! So it's okay to fly a traitor's flag and be proud about our 'heritage'."

It wasn't like the Union was a bastion of amazing race relations either you know? It was the times, and thankfully we moved to a better place as a country, unfortunately many had to die to accomplish that. And to be honest, I never have owned a confederate flag and lived most of my life in the northern Midwest. However, it is history and should be respected as such. A respect I think your responses seem to lack.

however censoring games based on historical events because it has this flag is absolutely insane.

duh. Most people are against what Apple did here. The problem is on both sides of this issue, we have reactionary right wingers jumping to defend a hateful racist symbol because "Free Speech" and we have reactionary left wingers jumping to get rid of the flag as much as possible.

This is where your perception of the flag differs from some others. The flag to most that own or support it is not a "I like to own and beat black people" flag, it is a "we took a stand against oppressive federal government, lost but we are still proud of our history" flag. Again just different opinions.

The best middle ground is removing it from public buildings

Agree.

and suggesting to society that those who are honoring a traitor's flag are fucking dumb.

People should remember what it stood for and why it existed. They should remember how close the nation came to losing, and how many had to die to bring it back together.
