It’s true to an extent, and I recall Pier Paolo Pasolini’s expressed sympathy with the police vs. rioting students but it’s still trivial. People there don’t hate Proud Boys because they’re working class but because they’re right wing.

The point is more valid with regards to the prominent strain of extreme antipathy to any religious person (e.g. Liz Bruenig) which is present there with some posters. While dressed up with left materialism it comes from the same place as nu-atheism, which is a desire to bang on poor people and the less educated, although reading more widely than those people do obviously disabuses one of the notion that it’s dumb people that are religious and smart people that are not religious.
