CMV: Andrew Tate is a con-man with poor takes.

You are in a way, arguing his points when you highlight that, indeed, conservative societies have always imposed restrictions on women, both due to fear of infidelity

No, I'm not.

Again: the claim was not "men don't like this for good evolutionary reasons", which I have no issue with. It's "this is not normal" which is silly for the very reasons you noted. The fact that men tried so hard to stop it showed that it was a real problem.

There's obvious important distinctions between these two statements. Most obviously being that Tate cannot simultaneously appeal to evopsych to justify (not explain; he justifies) male behavior (i.e. cheating) and then turn around and deny this to women by judging female infidelity to be worse if he were using the first (sensible) one.

I can't find the timestamp but it was in this video, in response to a woman saying a man shouldn't cheat. First of all: if a woman prefers a man not cheat that is not only her right, there's good evolutionary reasons for it (it prevents splitting of family resources due to children - our ancestors didn't have condoms - and potentially losing your mate).

But, conveniently, Tate not only ignores this but insists that it's not normal for women to cheat but it's normal and understandable for men to cheat. This is just silly double-standard talk, and saying that men prefer women cheat doesn't resolve this - yeah, no shit: people want to have everything and make no compromises. They would love to be able to cheat at will, not get caught and not have their partner cheat. But that's not how life works and no one thinks it's not "normal" for everyone else to not paly along.
