CMV: Copyright in the US and around the world should be 20 years, and not 75+ years

Because plenty of IP’s are successful for over 20 years and continue to grow and grow. Look at half of the fortune 500 as evidence of that. Amazon and apple branding in the public domain?

How would the the influx of fake knock offs and their inevitable rebrand benefit society?

There are endless brands, characters and products that go far beyond a 20 year life cycle.

Superheroes for just one example, if any studio could make any movie about any characters. Which would be the case as most are over 20 years old

It would hugely dilute the quality of the lore and the superheroes brand. No one would own the rights to it, and canon would cease to exist completely.

Overall its just a terrible idea
