I never once said that the Quran was peaceful or that I agreed with it, so you're preaching to the choir here. I'm only saying that it's no less peaceful than the Bible, which has plenty of verses that sound just as bad, if not worse. Are you willing to admit that? If you say yes, then there's nothing more to discuss, because this debate isn't about whether or not Islam is violent, but whether or not Islam should be singled out as an especially violent religion.

24% is a small minority. Also, that was only people who felt "some sympathy" for the motives behind the Charlie Hebdo attacks. That doesn't mean outright support. I'm sure plenty of fundamentalist Christians would feel "some sympathy" for the motives of people who bomb abortion clinics.
