I am not happy about a lot of changes that the show made and the direction it is taking now. However I always thought that the choice to give Sansa some of Jayne's story made sense because viewers wouldn't be able to keep up with Jayne or Northern conspiracy. The thing is we just don't know the direction GRRM is taking with Sanasa in Vale so it's hard to say what we're missing out on, I just believe the end results will remain the same.

But since I get why they put her there I also think her rape logically follows. And come on, Jayne got even raped by Ramsay's dogs in the books so it's not so much that the show threw in unnecessary rape, it's more that we can discuss whether Sansa's plot is better served in Vale or in the north and we don't know that yet. Id rather judge the show as a different story from season 5 onwards and in that sense this particular example isn't bad or unwitting.

What bothers me much more is the whole last seasons development with little finger.
