CMV: someone driving around a stolen car is not an "undocumented car owner". Anti-illegal-immigration is as “anti-immigrant” as anti-abusive-parenting is anti-parenting.

Is it really always wrong to steal though? Suppose that loaf of bread is discounted because it's a few days old and stale, but someone steals it at the very end of the day to feed their family. No one else wanted the bread and it hadn't been sold. It would have been thrown away. But they took it, and no one was hurt. Is that really bad?

Consider the complaint that illegal immigrants are always stealing our jobs. But the jobs they're taking are essentially the leftovers. I think it's important to remember that most of the jobs they take are ones that most people won't even consider--hard physical labor in hot, intense conditions that are frankly dangerous. They live in intense fear. The majority of these immigrants come from countries where the U.S. actually helped establish dictators in the past (re: Venezuela). Going back to their home countries may mean they no longer can afford to feed their families. There isn't any bread to buy where they're from, let alone bread they can steal.

I do agree that condemning wrongful acts because they are wrong is important. However, by that logic, shouldn't we show clemency to those illegal immigrants? They certainly have extenuating circumstances.
